There are many hardware brands. Those not shown can be compliant with minimum standards on a case-by-case basis.
For hardware to be compliant it must have an active service tag, meaning the original equipment vendor continues to provide support and has available break-fix repair services. Hardware for which the customer has purchased extended warranties is considered to match minimum standards. Hardware requiring a subscription service for patches and updates must have an active subscription to be compliant.
Workstations & Server hardware must meet a minimum hardware specification to maintain a level of performance and reliability. We will advise you of these requirements during our procurement process. Over time, these requirements may change depending on new standards and performance requirements. As a general rule, we suggest the following hardware requirements:
The following software products are considered to be fully covered by Computerman IT’s standard support agreements and are not considered “exotic” EXCEPT if they are well past their current support and no support is available from the vendor (eg: Quickbooks 2012).
Current versions considered supported by the manufacturer are valid products for support. For example, Microsoft Office 2013, 2010 and 2007 are no longer under mainstream support, and therefore are supported under “best-effort” only – or if they pose a security risk are unsupported.
